This is full day trip to the very famous and historical village popularly know as kizimkazi which is situated in the southern part of unguja island . It takes just one and half an hour to reach the village from stone town.
During 17th C. the village was used as the capital city of zanzibar. It was then used as the communication centre of East and central Africa during the second world war where equipments were installed right on top of Baobab trees grown along the sea shore.
Explore and experience everything in this village. Visit the old mosque which is the evidence of the introduction of islam into the southern part of east African crust around 12th C, the ruins and the wall which surrounded the city during17th C. when kizimkazi was the capital city after taking a leisure walk to superstitious miza wa miza cave which was said to be owned by a local chief who had two wives before loosing his second wife (miza by name) as she turned to a stone following her being called loudly inside the cave by the first wife which was against the cave regulation. The cave, the Stone (poor miza) and the well are still existing and can be visited. The well is no longer used as people use to fetch water from other places so as to let the site remain touristic.
